About Lincoln School of Early Learning
Lincoln School of Early Learning is a Reading First School. Reading First programs provide each child with 90 minutes of uninterrupted reading each morning (kindergarten 45 minutes). For students that need more help, we will be giving a “double dose” of reading during the day. Your child may have another teacher for reading.
The program is very specific and states there will be No interruptions during a 90-minute period, scheduled each morning. For this reason we ask you to work with us to keep this time interruption free. This means, having children here on time and scheduling appointments around our reading time.
We are excited about our program and all the great success children will experience in reading. Our goal is to have all children reading by the end of third grade. We know with your help, together we can achieve this goal. Working together will make the difference.

Governor Kitzhaber announced the launch of the Statewide Literacy Campaign, stORytime. The campaign was developed to build awareness for the impact early literacy has on lifelong success and intended to galvanize communities across Oregon to come together to support families in ensuring students are proficient readers by 3rd grade. Students reading by third grade are four times less likely to drop out of high school; in fact it is one of the single greatest predictor of life-long success.
